Let's Get Crackin'!

I have decided that one on my resolutions, for reals this time, is to sew for myself. Not just fun, kitschy, sci-fi stuff, but clothing. Time consuming sewing, ya know, the stuff that takes longer than an hour. LOL And looks good when it's done. hahahahaha

I joined a local sewing group Bay-Area-Sewists.

They have monthly meet-ups and the occasional sewing circle. I had such fun when I was in a regency corset sewing circle with a few members of the GBACG,  I can't wait to join one again.

I've been a member for a few months but the events fell on days where I already had plans. I was bummed. I am bummed no more; this Saturday I was freeeeeeeeeeeeee. I RSVP'd. I am going to get some good measurements and a little fitting help on a couple of muslins I have hanging in my closet. They always come out better with a buddy. Am I right?

It'll be weird not knowing anyone, but I have been the new kid before, I can do this!

Finally, the Eva Dress and Darling Ranges are going to come to life!!

I'm Golden

One more cross-eyed stitch complete. There is another set of three and then I can retire. I wasn't going to do another, but I just can't leave the grouping incomplete, ya know?

Next Gen Gold

All three together

Next up on the agenda, a sashiko table runner (going all modern..ooOOooooo), quilting a signature quilt and a ringmaster costume for colorguard and helping a friend alter a Hogwart's cloak.

Somewhere in there I shall celebrate a birthday, spend 3 days a week at physical therapy with the mil, prep the taxes and do a Klingon 5K.

Let the games begin..............................

Happy Endings and New Beginnings

Ended the year with a bang and started this year with a bang! There is just no half way for this chick!!
All in or all out, baby!!

If you did all the runs offered, you earned this.
I did a whole lotta walking this year...a whole lot. :-)

Now for the New.....

I signed up for a sashiko challenge at http://theardentthread.com. You get a fat quarter of  'out there' fabric, thread and needles. You HAVE to use all the challenge items, then you can add or embellish as you wish. First prize is a $50.00 cert.  Heck, all the prizes are good. I have until Feb. 29th to submit my work.

This is the last of the Sketchbook Project for awhile so I couldn't pass up one last shot at being published. LOL  I did it a few years ago. This time I splurged and got my book digitized. I have until 3-31-16 to submit my work. I picked the theme: photo-log. It gives me a great excuse to actually print up some of the images I have on my phone, computer and sd cards. LOL

Also started out with lots of family drama, the mil had to go to the hospital. That is never a good thing...especially when you are 86 with medical issues out the eyeballs. She's on the mend now, but it was worrisome for a few days. The hubs handled pretty good for most of the time.

I have big plans to be a finisher this year.
I  plan to keep my 5K to fitness journey; the goal, to lose another 10-15 pounds. I am all for lots of little changes that keep me from getting big again. I didn't get fat fast, I am not gonna get thinnish fast either.
More a lifestyle evolution than a diet plan.

I have a pretty big list in my planner, I have already checked off a few things...yay me!!
Some personal, some family/couple, some spiritual, some sewing, some just plain fun and goofy.

What is 2016 gonna look like for you?
We have a whole extra day and a big election.....change is a comin' and I do not plan to be on the sidelines weenie whining. I plan to be right in the middle of it, weenie whinin'. ;-)

Look out 2016, here I come...........................
